ABOUT
Kyrsten Leigh is a seasoned artist, singer, songwriter, musician, and the dynamic host of The Artist Hour on The Hub – Nanton Radio. With over a decade in the music industry, she has established herself as a passionate and influential voice in Canadian country music. Her work is grounded in raw, emotionally resonant storytelling brought to life through her signature blend of country and alternative, authenticity and lyrical depth. Beyond the mic, Kyrsten is also a respected radio host, interviewer, public speaker, and branding specialist, known for helping artists refine their unique style and stand out through memorable, meaningful branding choices.
Since launching The Artist Hour in 2024, Kyrsten has quickly become a champion of homegrown talent. Under the mentorship of David Gale—her producer and a guiding force who took her under his wing in the radio world—Kyrsten has grown the show from a local spotlight on Alberta musicians into an internationally successful radio program featuring Canadian country artists from across the nation. In May 2025, she hosted the show’s landmark 1 Year Anniversary Party and Live Onsite Broadcast at Ranchman’s in Calgary, featuring 11 Alberta country artists and marking a powerful milestone in her journey as a music community builder.
EARLY LIFE & MUSICAL ROOTS
World-schooled in her early teens, Kyrsten lived in 11 different countries, gaining a global perspective that shaped her deep empathy and understanding for different journey’s and storytelling instincts. She began writing songs at the age of 11, captivated by the stories she heard on country music radio. “Country music has always had a magical gift for storytelling, and it’s different than any other genre, specifically for this reason,” she says. “That’s why I’ve always connected with it.”
Even as a teenager, her songwriting was already emotionally rich and honest beyond her years—an early sign of the artist she would become. Today, that same heart-centered approach remains the throughline in everything she creates.
CAREER GROWTH & CREATIVE MILESTONES
Over the past decade, Kyrsten has worked with some of the most respected names in Canadian music. She’s collaborated with CCMA Award-winning engineer Johnny Gasparic and producer Dave Temple of MCC Recording Studio, and has created original music alongside her mentor, Dan Davidson, created a co-creative connection with Aaron Goodvin and collaborates with some of Canada’s most cherished talent.
In April 2024, Kyrsten took part in songwriting workshops led by Emma Harding, where she was mentored by Grammy-nominated songwriter, Bonnie Baker. That experience culminated in a performance at the legendary Commodore in Nashville and a studio recording of her latest demo, “Goodbye To I Do,” (un-released) a poignant original that represents a new chapter in her growth as a writer.
On the Stage & Behind the Scenes
Kyrsten has built a loyal following from her radio show The Artist Hour and through standout performances at Deck the Stage and Local Vocals at Ranchman’s, and even from way back in the day during her Road to the Mainstage semi-finals, where she earned the chance to perform at Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta. She’s also performed at Canada’s Wild Outdoor Expo and the Commodore Songwriters Stage in Nashville, captivating audiences with her authenticity and emotional connection.\
“What I love most about performing live is when I see someone in the audience recognize their own story in mine,” she shares. “It’s magic when you realize you’ve just sung a part of someone’s life.”
In addition to her performance work, Kyrsten brings her industry knowledge into artist brand development. As an industry branding specialist, she helps fellow artists define their image, voice, wardrobe and visual presence—building brands that feel as real and resonant as the music they make.
With a career defined by passion, storytelling, and a deep commitment to connecting community, Kyrsten Leigh continues to be an energizing force in Canadian Country Music. From the studio to the stage, from broadcast airwaves to branding consultations, she’s using every tool in her creative arsenal to help artists rise, connect, and shine their brightest—while staying true to the music and magic that started it all.
